Default Hiking for a workout

I enjoy Hiking during the summer! Hiking is a great workout, plus you get to be out in nature! Hiking is not my favorite workout, as I love the pump you get from going to the gym. My wife loves hiking though, so it's a chance to spend some quality time together.

Hiking wish I could do that, but for me to do that would have to travel to far out of the way. Glad though that you with your wife though. For me jogging and riding a bike is best for me when I am not at they gym to keep me in shape.

The cheapest and most practical for me is walking and jogging. We don't have extra money to pay for a gym membership and I'm a stay at home mom.I don't have alot of extra time to go.I also wouldn't have anyone to watch my daughter while I'm there. With walking we go as a family almost every evening. We spend time together and get out in the air.My daughter loves it and we of course chase her all over the yard.I get a good workout that way too.
I'd like to go to a gym but not intil we have more money and I can find someone to go with me.I can't get over the angst of going alone and feeling uncomfortable looking at woman thinner then myself. It's hard for me to do for some reason. Work out dvd's are good but get old and boring so I get bored with them too.I rather work out in the privavacy of my own home but intil we have more money to have excersise equipment the walking is one way for me to try to stay in shape.

Default Gyms with Childcare

A lot of gyms like Club USA Family Athletic Club in Colorado offer daycare and even small kid gyms to keep the kids happy!

A single membership is only like $34.95 per month, and you can add daycare for 1 kid for $5. per month.

Unfortunatly a fee like that is to much for us with the economy and saving for a house. I know theres a few local places and even some YMCA's that have gyms.I wont leave my daughter with a stranger though. I would have someone looking over her.I'm looking into toddler gymnastics classes for her though.Maybe one day...

Personally I feel that jogging/running is one of the best workouts you can do. Start off easy and work your way into a hard workout over a period of time. Don't try and run your buns off on the first day (or even first few weeks). Ease into the workout and you'll notice you wont be stiff/sore from working out, and gradually you can extend the distance/pace.

I agree that walking/jogging is a great low-cost exercise. A good run can burn calories like nothing else!

However I wanted to encourage you, once $$ isn't such a factor, to please consider a gym. People are not looking at you and judging. They are too busy into their own workout (well are all self-centered, you know! ). If I do happen to see someone at the gym who is really overweight and struggling, in my mind I'm thinking "good for them!" I am not judging them in a negative way at all.

My blood sugar was too high today and I did a couple insulin shots but it wouldn't go down. I wanted to go to the gym, but I think Adam and I are going to go so i decided to just walk my dog around the lake (1.4 miles).

It was so funny because she gets tired by the end of the walk and decided to just lay down... Poor little dog... I have to carry her sometimes! lol...

I think my dog is a faker though. She's a Jack Russell Terrier. She's meant to run! She needs more exercise...
