Default Know someone who's been diagnosed?

I worked with a lady who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia such a scary sounding name for something that has little medical awareness. She seemed to always be suffering some affect of this diagnosis. Sounds like a difficult thing to have to deal with.

Know anyone who is going through this now?

My step-mother and cousin both have this affliction. It's challenging because the symptoms are varied and there isn't enough known about the disease to properly treat it. What has worked for them is seeing a dietician and really controlling what they put into their bodies. My step-mom found that eliminating wheat, for her, really helped.

Another challenge is that it comes with a stigma--a lot of people still believe this is a made-up disease, or that the women who suffer this are simply exaggerating. So support your friend by validating her in any way you can.

I agree with you completely. There is nothing out there that says just because it can not be easily medically identified that it doesn't exist. My co-worker was suffering obviously from these effects. She too was turning to diet and vitamins and steering as much as possible towards more organic based foods.

Gluten (wheat) can definitely be a negative thing for someone suffering from fibromyalgia! There are so many different types of fibromyalgia / chronic fatigue, and it's tough to know what you have when you first start experiencing signs.

Fibromyalgia is definitely real. I've worked with a couple of fibromyalgia sufferers.

One of the reasons fibromyalgia isn't taken as seriously as it should be is that it simply describes a sensation...fibro=fiber, myo=muscle, algia=pain...which was thought to affect women more often than men. The name describes the symptoms and not the cause. Doctors usually approached it as a mental or emotional problem, blaming it on stress just as they used to blame cardiac problems, in women, on stress instead of diagnosing heart disease, and heart attacks.

I am sure this will change but you have to remain vigilant with your doctor, and insist on tangible, and aggressive, pain relief.

I've treated a lot of people over the years, who had fibromyalgia. The word, broken down, basically just means "pain in the muscle fibers" which translates to chronic pain with no known cause or treatment. I've found that each person responds to different forms of therapy. Mostly lighter massage is good, but I have one fibro client who needs the deep work. Hurts like the dickens apparently for a couple of days and then pain relief for a week or more.

Default Exercise for Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue Patients

Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue Sufferers have it tough. If they exercise too much, they get so tired and sore that they basically can't function. If they don't exercise enough, they have no energy and feel terrible.

Someone suffering from Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue typically can exercise for around 15 minutes to start out as long as it is not too intense. If they start out too hard they can be tired and sore and even physically sick for days later.

If you suffer from Fibromyalgia / Chronic Fatigue exercises like swimming or mild walking can be a good start, as long as you start easy.

Just be careful not to get too intense, and be sure to Add Fibro-X to your daily regime. It is specifically formulated to help lessen the severity of the painful symptoms experienced by the Fibromyalgia patient.

Fibro-X is a natural alternative treatment for fibromyalgia and a lot of people seem to experience very good results!

You can buy discount Fibro-X and 6,000 other supplements on BeFit4Free.com

If you are suffering from fibromyalgia, isn't it worth it to try a natural supplement that might help you feel better? Fibro-X may help you feel better and suffer less! I'd say try whatever works!

Please email me personally if you have any questions or concerns and I'd be glad to figure something out for you! If I don't know the answer, I can find someone for you who does.

Have any of your doctors taken a look at your knees?

I had a friend who became obese because she had horrible knee pain but doctors wouldn't do a knee replacement because of her age....which is the stupidest thing I have heard but I have heard it often!

Perhaps it would help to talk to your doctor about your leg problems first, before he gets to lead you into feeling worse about your situation.

It sounds like you are being blamed for things that are not being addressed effectively!
