My mother had menopause at a young age, and I'm concerned I might as well. Are there things I can do to prevent menopause in my 40s?

I'm not sure what you can do to prevent menopause, but you can reduce the symptoms by taking primrose oil.

Outside of replacing estrogen with...estrogen, I don't know of any natural ways to avoid menopause.

I guess, if you were really brave, you could try taking birth control pills because they fool the body into thinking you are pregnant, but that is pretty extreme, IMHO!

There's no avoiding menopause unless you drop dead before it comes. Sooner or later, your body is going to go through the changes that it's programmed to go through. You can minimize the effects, or you can choose to ride them out. I've chosen to ride it out.

There are many good women's health supplements that can reduce the effects of menopause. They're natural and healthy, but the good thing is the make you feel better!

I've been very lucky so far where the effects haven't really interfered with my life. I know women whose hot flashes have left them sweating like mad for ten minutes and then it stops. Mine tend to last longer, but not as intense in the heat department--feels more like the flush you feel when you're embarrassed. Everything else has also been minimal, and I haven't needed supplements. This is not to say that other women shouldn't take whatever supplements and other healthy things to get them through it.

What a great price!

Most women's supplements are so expensive that it is difficult to justify buying them!

Too cool!

I personally don't think much is going to stop it before the time. They say generally when you get your friend earlier your also more likely to hit menopause ealier. However, that wasn't the case with my mom. I also believe smoking, stress and other factors really play a part in getting it sooner. So, in general eat health, take vitamins, keep stress low and don't smoke or had more toxins then needed to your body.
