Question How Long Have You Had a Personal Trainer?

I don't know a lot of people who've had personal trainers, but my impression is that my friends who had a personal trainer didn't really stay with it.

Is there anyone here who's had a lasting program with a personal trainer?

Default How long should I work with a personal trainer?

A good personal trainer only retains clients who want a personal trainer for motivation / a friend to workout with.

Sean Lowe is a trainer who I respect, and if I was hiring a personal trainer for myself, I'd use Sean.

Sean Lowe's personal training philosophy is that he wants to train clients to train themselves!

He will work with a client for a couple of weeks, and teach them how to design their own personal training program. Sean uses client referrals to stay in business instead of having the same personal training clients pay him to get a little more information each session.
I respect that he teaches personal training clients to train themselves.

Sean has a good system their. People want to learn how to train and his system seems it would work very well.

I like that idea a lot. Let's face it, if you can become educated on what's best for you, then you can design a program that will fit into your life better. And where a trainer might not always be available, you are available to yourself 24/7.

My husband is a personal trainer, and it is fun to work out together sometimes, but we don't ever treat our workouts like a personal training session. We just work out like friends sometimes. I don't think a married couple could ever have the other teach them something about personal training. It's just hard to listen to.

I've never had a real personal trainer, but I have had sports coaches who were very knowledgeable in fitness training, and helped me out and taught me so much.

I'm always open for new things to try if someone were to suggest something to me at the gym.

Thanks, I was interested in the shoulder training video and posted a comment about it there.

I'm actually looking for additional ab workouts so I'll check out the video forum for that also.

I dont think we can have personal trainers until we are sponsered by some other. Because personal trainers are available at a much higher pay that one who just goes to gym for fitness cannot afford.

I trust myself and the net, I always prefer to do things on my own. So I have never opted for a trainer. I have some knowledge about fitness, I love to use some tips for myself. Most of the tips have been of quite a help.
