I really wish I could afford a personal trainer. I could get just as fit as the movie stars! But why are they so expensive darn it.

| Typically, personal trainers don't make all that much money, even though they charge $45.00 or more per hour. The few that have TONS of clients and are constantly booked, make a good living, but for example: When I trained at 24 Hour Fitness, they only paid me $15.01 / hour when I had clients and $7.01 per hour when I had floor training appointments. The club I was training for was charging almost $60.00 per hour for my services, and even though I averaged between 50 - 75 clients PER WEEK, I made just enough to stay afloat. There is an industry standard that everyone charges, so small gyms where the personal trainer keeps 90% of the profit - the trainer makes a lot more money. The value is determined by what people are willing to pay. BeFit4Free is shooting videos (exercise and personal training type) to teach people the same kind of stuff that a personal trainer could teach you but our videos are free. http://www.befit4free.net/f13/

Every so often you may come across a personal trainer who charges very low rate. Just looks for flyers/business cards that offer great deals.

Actually, the trainers sees their oppurtunity to earn with your ambition. And another reason for this is, they cannot train each and every person. So limit the number of person asking for personal trainers, they are imposing a heavy pay.

I think most personal trainers do it for the passion. They must really love their job in helping people becoming fitter and healthier as a result of their guidance. It is the satisfaction that counts more, rather than the money. Am I right ?
