| Step one to a new lifestyle. Get Discounts, Coupons & Updates from Infinite Sports USAIt seems there is always the latest frenzy of diets. Brand name diets come and go as quickly as Octomom is having babies. Then there are the “Extreme” diets. I would say over 95% of diets out there work. I do question ones health on extreme diets that advertiser losing 7-10 pounds per week; when a healthy weight loss should be no more than 2-3 pounds a week. The problem with the word “DIET” is that you can't stay on them forever. One could end up with serious health issues staying on an “Extreme” diet over the recommended length of time. Forget the diets, forget the calorie counting unless you're a professional athlete. How about a lifestyle change. Make a decision, a promise to change the way you're eating, to excersie consistently, to have a new LIFESTYLE on your own health. Start by a decision. Write your goals down on a 3 x 5 card and place it on your bathroom mirror. The goals should be: How much do you want to weigh. When do you want to achieve the new weight. Be realistic on the time issue. You shouldn't be losing anymore than 2-3 pounds a week after your first 2 weeks of your new lifestyle. |

| I agree. I am not a big fan of diets. I had been on every diet out there including some very extreme ones. The problem is that these diet companies fail to inform their clients of many factors. If the diet of choice has pre-made meals for instance, the dieter lacks the valuable learning experience of cooking and menu management that needs to be done to maintain the wellness lifestyle. Without such practice, they will become dependent on the company providing these meals. Not to mention the sodium intake of these meals are really bad. Many times I have found that these meals have increased sodium even though the caloric intake is lowered. And where did the good fiber go??? Can’t blame the company selling the idea as this lack of information keeps the customer coming back for more. I know several people who have made the statement, “I am going back on the ______ diet as I have gained it back (plus some).” I just want to scream, “HELLO! Wake up, if you have to do it again, then it never really worked to begin with” BIGGEST problem I have with this merry-go-round is what the dieter fails to see creep up. The change in their body composition. I have seen it (and experienced it), where you loose weight, and gain it back however you are unable to squeezeinto the same size you were last time you were at that particular weight. This mystery is due to the change in the amount of muscle you have lost compared to the amount of fat you have gained. By the time you hop off the dieting merry-go-round, you realize that you are ALOT bigger then before. Of course the dieter then thinks they have to pour their money back into the un-named diet. The unfortunate thing is that the average person never sees the underlying effect. My advice: LET GO of these pre-made meals, and change the channel the next time you see the “paid programming” of another media marketed diet. BE PATIENT; DO IT RIGHT. Build your strength back in the gym or at home. Feed your body and mind, not the grocery industry Know that you have support, if not around you, here at BeFit4Free.net Any diet that sounds too good to be true...IS!

It's not a quick and easy, pre-made box dinner that has a candy bar for dessert, but it does help you to learn about portion control, keeping protein intake high enough etc. If you're dedicated enough to stick to it, you'll get crazy results and lose a lot of fat without risking gaining a lot back when you go back to normal eating because now you know how to cook and eat healthier. |
