Default The Best Snacks

When you're trying to lose weight, sometimes you can get the urge for a snack. As long as you're prepared for such a time, you can snack and still remain true to your meal plan.

When hungry, go for a bowl of soup. Most soups don't have that many calories and will fill you up nicely.

If it's winter time and you need something sweet, try a cup of sugar free cocoa or even one with sugar if the calories aren't too high. Drink it slowly and savor it. That it's a treat and a snack might totally calm a craving down.

My favorite snack is a big bowl of veggies, both cooked and raw, covered, not in salad dressing, but in ready made spaghetti sauce! The calories aren't high in the sauce and you can get it in a lot of styles. Mostly it's tomatoes so it's fine and healthy.

You can eat a big bowl of assorted veggies and help, not hurt, your diet.

Anyone have more ideas for great snacks?

Wow, those are great diet ideas! You're pretty much a diet expert, huh? You should post a forum picture so we can see what kind of shape you're in! Someone with that many good diet tips is probably ripped! Keep it up buddy!

One of my favorite dieting snacks is beef or turkey jerky. While high in sodium, jerky is all protein, and typically low carb / low cal (unless it's a sweet teriyaki).

Thumbs down Dieting snacks

Dieting Snacks -
Today was a bad day for dieting snacks... I ate everything in sight! I went to Tokyo Joe's and had a large bowl of chicken and brown rice (which wasn't that bad) but then I went straight to Subway and ate a double meat foot-long sub with tuna and seafood because I was still hungry.

I don't know what I was thinking! I feel so sick now . lol

For dinner I'll have to use some of those dieting snacks.

If you are eating soup for a snack to curb appetite remember that creamy soups have a lot more calories.
One of my best friends makes a delicious and very filling homemade vegetable soup, you basically put everything you can think of in it, canned or fresh and then add chicken broth. It is delicious and very low calorie. If you boil the chicken yourself to make your own broth then it will have a lot less sodium in it than if you used canned chicken broth.

Curtis, don't let blowing it that one day discourage you.
Just start again and do better the next time!

I love beef jerky and it tends to fill me up so I do not go for the no-no's on the grocery shelves. Sometimes I do give in, but i try not too.

That sounds good! I haven't made homemade soup in a long time, but it is very easy, and tastes good! Plus soup is a good diet food because it is low calorie!

I never thought about soup. It's low cost and it tastes very good as well and it fills you up quickly. Great Idea!

I'm glad you like the homemade soup idea.
What cold be better? Loads of veggies and good flavor that fill you up and give you almost no calories plus lots of healthy roughage.
