Default Cholesterol

Site Sponsors: Cool Christian Apparel from Virtue Clothing.
Also called: HDL, Hypercholesterolemia, Hyperlipidemia, Hyperlipoproteinemia, LDL
Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that occurs naturally in all parts of the body. Your body needs some cholesterol to work properly. But if you have too much in your blood, it can stick to the walls of your arteries. This is called plaque. Plaque can narrow your arteries or even block them.
High levels of cholesterol in the blood can increase your risk of heart disease. Your cholesterol levels tend to rise as you get older. There are usually no signs or symptoms that you have high blood cholesterol, but it can be detected with a blood test. You are likely to have high cholesterol if members of your family have it, if you are overweight or if you eat a lot of fatty foods.
You can lower your cholesterol by exercising more and eating more fruits and vegetables. You also may need to take medicine to lower your cholesterol. You can take your medicine through online pharmacy easily.

Cholesterol is so much part of the human system. It is in the body cells and in the bloodstream. It is most needed the manufacture of vitamin D as well as the production of estrogen, adrenocorticoid, progesterone and androgen which are sex hormones. It is also utilized in the formation of cell membranes. The way cholesterol runs through the bloodstream has various effects. It has to be understood first that cholesterol is distributed to different compartments of protein in the blood. It includes LDL or the low density lipoproteins, HDL or high-density lipoproteins, IDL or intermediate-density lipoproteins, VLDL or very low-density lipoproteins along with aslipoproteins.
The flipside to having more than just enough LDL type of cholesterol circulating in the blood is that it can lead to the clogging of the arteries. It would be a result of the formation of plaque which is formed along the arteries wall with too much of such cholesterol. By the time this happens, the arteries gets hardened. The condition is then called as atherosclerosis.

Your blood cholesterol level has a lot to do with your chances of getting heart disease. High blood cholesterol is one of the major risk factors for heart disease. A risk factor is a condition that increases your chance of getting a disease. In fact, the higher your blood cholesterol level, the greater your risk for developing heart disease or having a heart attack. Heart disease is the number one killer of women and men in the United States. Each year, more than a million Americans have heart attacks, and about a half million people die from heart disease.

Is it genetic? If our parents have high cholesterol levels, does it mean we're prone to the condition?

Smile hereditary heart disease

Term hereditary heart disease refers to heart disease which is passed down through the family, and this is considered as being a congenital type of heart disease because it is basically unavoidable and unpreventable. If you have a history of early heart disease in your family then you too are at risk for hereditary heart disease.

High level of cholesterol can cause heart disease so you should maintain it. Cholesterol is a waxy steroid metabolite found in the cell membranes and transported in the blood plasma of all animals. Cholesterol can comes from two different sources your body and food. Your liver and other cells of body make 75%of blood cholesterol and the rest 25% comes from the foods you take.
