The last time I went t my endocrinology doctor, I was asking her about a couple of the supplements I was taking. I told her that they were legal anabolic supplements that are methylated at the 17th carbon molecule so they remain orally active. I asked her if that would raise my liver values. (She had no clue).
I also told her that one of the supplements I was taking contained an aromatase inhibitor. I told her that the reason for taking this was to decreases the amount of estrogen production and increases the natural production of testosterone in my body. (She was unfamiliar with the term).
When I told her about these supplements, I was looking for tips or advice. I showed her the breakdown of the chemical compounds in the supplements, and she had no clue what I was talking about. She said that I probably knew best, and I should do what I felt was best.
An endocrinologist is a doctor who specializes in the endocrine system. (thyroid gland, which also includes the neuroendocrine glands of the pancreas, the parathyroids, pituitary gland, ovaries, and the adrenal glands.)
I wasn't asking her to look at herbal or natural blends, or asking which multivitamin was best, I was asking about
2a,3a Epithio-17a -methyl-17b-hydroxy-5a-androstane - which is the ingredient in Methyl-E... A lab compounded supplement sold on BeFit4Free.com that is similar to the very same compounds she prescribes daily.
